Position Overview



This position is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing plans for innovative food processing machinery. Investigate and analyze design requirements. Apply appropriate engineering principles to ensure suitability of design. Manage design from concept to manufacturing preparation and operational commencement. In addition, the position will work with Research and Development (R&D) in creating, modifying, or fixing technology designs as well as supporting other R&D activities.



Job Functions




  • Develop detailed designs from high level concepts. Manage projects from conception to design completion and manufacturing preparation.

  • Participate in design origination that supports company objectives.

  • Work with manufacturing and other departments to ensure commencement, execution, and completion of designed machinery.

  • Ensure appropriate engineering principles and analysis are applied to design to fulfill design requirements.

  • Prepare or oversee creation of detail drawings and manufacturing plans of designs.

  • Knowledgeable in company’s key equipment and processes.

  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.



Skills and Abilities




  • Advanced mathematics.

  • Ability to apply engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems.

  • Strong analytic and presentation skills.

  • Experience in computer aided drafting software, including 3-D Modeling.



Demonstrated Competencies




  • Complex problem solving.

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside vendors as necessary, both in verbal and written form.

  • Must be able to present information clearly and concisely and be able to work in a strong team environment.

  • Must be self-motivated and detailed orientated with above average mechanical skills.

  • Must have regular and punctual attendance. 



Physical Requirements




  • Office setting.



Experience: 1year of relevant experience within the industry is desired.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline from 4-year College or University is preferred. Well-rounded, practical experience may be substituted in lieu of formal education.
